10 Board Game Accounts to Follow on Instagram 2026
Back in 2020 I did a feature on the Top Ten Board Game Accounts to Follow on Instagram. I thought this would be a yearly feature and yet here I am revisiting it six and a half years later! A lot has changed on Instagram over those years, including a shift in focus from photographs to reels. Also, all but a handful of the people I suggested you follow have disappeared for one reason or another. I have wanted to update this list for so long and every time I decide on a new Top Ten, another cool account appears, and equally another one vanishes.
However, in the spirit of sharing the love of board games on Instagram, I have finally come up with a new Top Ten. Of course, in addition to these amazing accounts there is also me! I like to offer expert reviews coupled with better than average photographs, even if I do say so myself! So before you explore the other great people below, be sure to follow @boardgamereviewuk on Instagram!
So, in no particular order other than alphabetically, here are some great accounts to follow, they all showcase some excellent board games both new and old!
@boardgamemeeple
It feels like Gareth has been on Instagram longer than Instagram has been around! I have always found his passion for sharing amazing games, particularly heavier titles, infectious and I am lucky enough to count him as one of my friends in real life via the connection we made on Insta. Like so many, he doesn’t post on Instagram with the same vigour as he once did, but I am hoping by putting him on this list he will remember to post a little more often as we all like to see and hear about the games he has played – no pressure Gareth!
@boardtoplay
With the influx of short-form videos and whatever else Instagram throws at us, I am delighted that accounts like Board To Play still keep going. Joe’s sumptuous photographs ooze quality and clarity. The professionalism of the setups and lighting are something to aspire to, so be sure to punctuate the loudness of Instagram with the skilful silent photography of this account.
@buryboardgames
Tom has been part of my Instagram since I joined many years ago. His passion for playing board games has never wavered and his board game reviews are thorough. You will find his feed is filled with a good mix of older titles, as well as all the shiny and new games you would expect. Tom also works at Shuffle Board Game Café in Bury St Edmonds and I can testify is a fantastic teacher of games. I think he only got the job in Bury as rumours were rife he buried board games he didn’t like under his patio and that’s how he really got his name!
@dani_standring
If there is one person that has perfected narrated and face-to-camera reels it is the incredible Dani Standring. She certainly knows how to bring the board game excitement to Instagram. I am often in awe of the fresh and current content she makes, while not only maintaining her approachable personality, but also slapping it all over her feed! If Dani is the future of board game content on Instagram, bring it on!
@exploring_boardgames
I have followed Shana for an absolute age. I adore her soft focus close up photography of board games, but for some reason or another, she has never grabbed the spotlight in the same way as other content creators. However, I particularly admire how she sticks to her own unique viewpoint through the lens. I certainly appreciate her hanging around Instagram!
@getintogames
Craig will fill your feed with board game content, and then fill it again with more. He is prolific but offers a nice mix of sensible opinions and silliness. He also hosts an annual hashtag called #boardtober which offers prompts for posts and giveaways throughout the spooky month of October. Craig also hosts a podcast with his wife that may be of interest to you too!
@happymeeples
Happy by name and happy by nature. Nick and Mandy (and their family) are one of the most infectiously joyous accounts on Instagram. I am a massive fan of their humour and upbeat content. I also have loved seeing their family grow. Everyone needs the drop of sunshine this account brings to your feed!
@shelf_no_shame
Tess and Evy are a Belgium couple who will fill your feed with fantastic opinions on mostly two-player games. Their photos will leave you intrigued and wanting to see more. You might see their cat sneaking into photos from time to time too! If you play regularly at two players this account is well worth a follow as they highlight lots of newer titles, including some less mainstream games.
@themidlandmeeple
Craig is still hanging on to some bygone link to the West Midlands with his username, when in fact he resides in Wales. Don’t let any of that put you off though. His opinions on games are always honest and I have been introduced to many fantastic games thanks to him and his partner Matthew. He tends to sway towards medium to heavy titles, and regularly games solo or co-operatively too. If that sounds like something you want on your feed, then go give him a follow!
@unicorns_and_boardgames
Zoe is a true delight, and another account on Instagram that lets their personality, other hobbies and real life shine through her feed. Her account could easily be Unicorns, Rainbows and Board Games as her posts are often joyously colourful. Her board game collection is also colour co-ordinated. This is such a lovely account to follow.
It’s so difficult picking just ten, so I think I just have to make more of an effort to highlight fantastic Instagram accounts every year instead of every six!
