Pushed For Time, Spoiler-free Escape Room Review
Advert: this experience was gifted by Escape Plan, this has not affected our opinion.
A sneaky mid-week day off from work saw me head to the big smoke for a day out. Meeting up with our friend Ben, we playtested a top secret new board game. We then headed to Escape Plan to try out another of their rooms. This time we tried Pushed For Time.

Greeted by the lovely Dr Lou, we were given a whistle stop tour of time travel, and how key information had been scattered through history. Our mission was to go back in time and recover and discover the forgotten ability of time travel. The aim was to then travel back to the here and now in Shoreditch, and we had 75 minutes to do so!
We started off in a bit of a dither, lots of elements but none of them quite clicking. After a while we discovered our face palm moment! We had not checked the desk drawers, which is quite literally the first thing you should do in any escape room! Kicking ourselves we started to make more progress. Although our ability to try and overthink the puzzles was prevalent, after two clues we finally settled down and checked the more obvious possibilities! They were the last clues we ended up needing.

I don’t think it is much of a spoiler to say there is a time travelling machine in this escape room. This gimmick works most excellently and was definitely a highlight. The rest of the rooms proceeded much more to plan, although we forgot to check another drawer and work out where a key obviously went, but we were generally rocking.
Overall, the puzzles made sense and there was a decent number of them to solve. They were all nicely varied too and worked to our different strengths. There was one particular puzzle box that was mechanically very clever indeed.

We completed the room in a respectable, but not record breaking 65 minutes, and had a lot of fun along the way! I think I probably preferred the other room, The Adventure Begins, but this was still very good indeed. Now I just need to try their other two rooms as soon as possible!
Our team of three celebrated with a trip to Dishoom, a lovely restaurant serving some delicious Indian food packed full of vibrant flavours. We also popped into the Shuffle Club around the corner and played an hour of Shuffleboard, which was brilliant fun too. That concluded a lovely day out in East London!
