Wee Whimsical Creatures, Game of the Month – November 2021
I play board games to gather people around the table and to have fun. A number of games have shone for me in November and have succeeded in providing endless entertainment. Once again I am spoilt for choice from the 45 different games played.
I should give honourable mentions to some fantastic games that were new-to-me this month. The eagerly awaited Iki finally hit the UK and was as deliciously strategic as I had hoped. Above and Below’s storytelling had put me off, but I stand corrected as it was a fantastic part of the game and now I am keen to explore other titles by Ryan Laukat. Big City has been a fantastic hit too, so much so I rushed out and bought the expansion immediately. Oriflamme was a beautifully edited card game full of tactics with a limited hand and oodles of strategy. Plus settling in to a couple of games of Sea of Clouds with my two older boys was a pleasure.

So with such big hitters in contention it may come as a surprise that this month’s game of the month is a little card game, that arrived without a box in a resealable baggy that cost about a fiver, having backed it on Kickstarter. The title of the game is also pretty much how you play it: “A game about Wee Whimsical Creatures and trying to identify them after someone makes noises”. As you can probably tell, this sees players attempting to make the sound of a monster while other players have to guess which creature they have attempted to sound like.

I love it, my kids love it, everyone I have played it with has been laughing and smiling. It is hilarious, eccentric, creative and truly fantastic! I thoroughly recommend it and my life would undoubtedly be a little sadder if I didn’t own it!
Despite it being a Kickstarted game, you can still bag a Bezzy Budget Bag of AGAWWCATTITASMN in Bez’s shop!
Reviewer’s Note
For clarity. We don’t get paid for our reviews. We purchased this game with our own money – I can stretch to a fiver you know, I even upgraded it to include a signed card and have sleeved it too! Either way, this has not affected our review!
